July show moved to the 16th! BIG on Bloor!
July is going to be huge for Emerging Writers. We’re closing down for August, so I guess it makes sense to have July be the month to jam-pack with everything cool . Our next show is a week later than usual on the schedule and will be going on July 16th! We’re doing a joint effort with Great Lakes Review and will be launching the second issue of GLR! Three of our readers are from Great Lakes Review and two are regular Emerging Writers. It’s going to be a fun night and will turn into a summer party after the readings with DJing by DJ Steve Cassidee. First ten people to put $5 into the PWYC jar get a free issue of GLR! I have a short story, “Christopher Plays the Blues,” in the journal as well.
BIG on Bloor is coming up in a few weeks on July 20th and July 21st. So far I can confirm that Emerging Writers will be doing a showcase during BIG on Bloor and will have more details about this soon. It’s a really exciting opportunity for Emerging Writers, and I’m so thrilled that EW has been recognized as a vital part of the arts and culture community in the Bloor West area!
Keep spreading the word about Emerging Writers! More work will be done on the website in the next little while (especially in the past readers and upcoming readers area).
We are also looking for volunteers to help ease the load for July. If you are interested in getting involved (low time commitment and labour … just need help with handouts, photocopying, and you need to be able to attend at least one of the shows), shoot me a Facebook message or email!
Thanks for all the support! We have a great community around EW, and I’m so glad to know you all!
